Government Authority located in Columbus, Ohio; USA based organization looking for expert vendor for security consultant services.
[A] Budget: Looking for Proposals
[B] Scope of Service:
(1) Vendor needs to provide security consultant services on an as needed basis to the government authority located in Columbus, OH.
- Inventory of existing security-related equipment (cameras, DVRs, etc.) on the revenue and non-revenue vehicle fleets,
o Advise if equipment is in working order and provide information on recommended replacement schedule (if applicable),
o Provide recommendation on whether the existing equipment is the correct brand and type of equipment (industry standard) and appropriate age for intended use,
o Advise on a recommended method of tracking repair or work orders and whether the existing EAM solution is the best system to accomplish this,
o Provide recommendations on equipment replacement and upgrades, including a life cycle plan,
o Development of a schedule for recommended equipment replacement and upgrades,
- Review of the existing hardware and software to determine if the existing systems (Genetec, safety vision) are the right systems moving forward (in terms of performance, reliability and system acquisition cost and cost of ownership,
o If it is determined existing solution is the right system, then provide recommendations for deploying it to the rest of the fleet,
o Review the video off-load issues and determine why it takes so long and advise on potential improvements,
o Advise if wireless infrastructure is robust enough to handle the task of transferring the amount of data is currently generating,
o Perform an evaluation of the necessity of offloading all recorded data from the bus,
o Provide an assessment of video on coaches and advise why it is not working in a reliable manner,
o Review and advise on the number of hold requests to repair and update video systems and hardware on the buses,
- Perform a review of all current security equipment maintenance and service,
o Provide a cost benefit analysis of contracting out these services compared to performing them in-house,
o If the in-house approach is recommended, provide information on the number of full-time employees and skills needed to perform the work,
o Advise if requires a video or camera repair crew similar to our current radio repair team,
o Provide advice on the development of preventive maintenance campaigns for security equipment,
o Advise if there is a method (such as system health status) to be alerted when a camera is not functioning or video is not recording,
- Video storage and access to videos,
o Document the current process,
o Advise if there is a better way to maintain video and share it internally and externally,
o Advise if the recommended improvement is an IT solution or a head-count solution,
o Provide information on how should maintain the chain of custody.
(2) All question must be submitted no later than November 25, 2019.
